Davide Carlesi and Gian Luca Tonelli were born in Italy in the 1970s and their paths diverged greatly at first. They started to work in industrial design at the end of the 1990s, participating in exhibitions and workshops with their work, which was highly acclaimed in Italy and abroad and reviewed in major trade journals. Since then, they have collaborated with various companies such as Snaidero, Midj, Andrea Fontebasso, DOMITALIA, Dinova and Assouline. Their brand AREA44 is the result of a shared desire to offer rigorous, thoughtful and passionate design, a search for the essential where the human being always remains at the centre.
